Women's Voices, Women's Votes
Women's Voices, Women's Votes: Supported by a grant from the Sprout Fund in commemoration of Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary, EWC has sponsored a collaborative initiative called Women's Voices, Women's Votes. This historic initiative is bringing together the members of approximately 20 professional women's organizations to connect with one another and to probe the possibility of collaborating on specific endeavors of benefit to the region and to enhance the influence of its women leaders.
On June 19, 2008 the Women's Voices, Women's Votes program was held at the New Hazlett Theater. The major initiatives emerged from this session include: Women in the Workplace, More Women in Business Leadership, More Women in Government Leadership, and Pay Equity. A fifth initiative, to Coordinate the Work and Calendars of all the participating organizations collaborating in Women' Voices will also be undertaken through the leadership of EWC. A plan for bringing that coordinated effort together will be developed soon.
Another follow-up meeting of the planning committee for Women's Voices, Women's
Votes will take place in September. This meeting will be dedicated to developing the action planning process to move our work forward. We will provide another update once that meeting occurs. To view the entire report from the Women Voices Women Votes Session, please click here.
